In the 2013 strategic conference, Yixun an ecommerce subsidiary of China’s largest internet company Tencent said that it will build 10 new national core warehouses this year. The Shanghai Qingpu warehouse construction will start soon and cover an amazing 200 acres of inventory space. By then it will probably surpass Jingdong’s Asian No. 1 and become the largest automated warehousing center in Asian.
Based on the six core warehousing layouts in Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen and other cities, Yixun will newly open 10 more in Guangzhou, Chongqing, Wuhan, Hangzhou while booting the one that covering 200 acres of Shanghai Qingpu warehouse.
The business structure of Yixun and Jingdong is highly overlapping, that’s why the relationship between these two companies has been belligerent. In addition to the competition of the supply chain of some big brand products, they also fight for logistics, warehousing and other infrastructures. In 2013 Jingdong plans to invest 50 billion for the logistics construction, and Asia’s No. 1 project is the high priority. So who‘s gonna win?
