MediaTek has been known to build affordable processors with great specs and it seems that this time, they are trying to jump over the competition by offering the first true 8-core processor for mobile devices. Yes, Samsung launched the S4 with an 8 Core CPU but it used different technology only letting the CPU use 4 cores at a time and alternating depending on the current task. MediaTek is planning on starting the mass production of those insanely fast chips in November and to ship them out in devices by the start of 2014.
ATuTu benchmarks rate the CPU around the 30.000 score, making it a close competitor for the high-end Snapdragon Chip from Qualcomm.
This means that in approximately half a year, Bings Electronics is expecting its first load of 8core powered phones coming in. Hang in tight for more news!
