Another year has gone and another CES show has finished with many major companies showing their latest and greatest for the upcoming year as well as some lesser startup companies hoping to get a foot in the door with their inventions. Starting on the 6th of January and finishing on the 9th in the city of sin that is also known as Las Vegas, people from across the global gather in their masses to see or even catch a glimpse. According to CES, the 2014 show broke previous records as over 3,200 exhibitors across the largest show floor in the history of this exhibition as more than two million net square feet of exhibit space was used.
One announcement that was made at the Las Vegas based convention was that now you can text you washing machine just to see how it is getting on. I mean leaving your children at home unattended is one thing, but leaving your washing machine can be a worrying experience so LG have come up with a solution to let you have a peace of mind whenever you are away from the washing. You might find this a little bit ridiculous but actually it is showing how more and more of our technology is interacting with each other meaning that in the future you could possibly control most aspects of your house through your mobile phone. Also it shows how in the future we will be more reliant and dependant on technology to help us with our daily life activities.
As technology becomes further implemented in our lives, more companies are now capitalizing on this and another interesting invention at the CES convention is a TV that senses people’s mood to help decide on what we should watch. Netflix, a source for TV shows and movies will recommend contents that will help you if you are feeling moody, angry, sad, happy, excited etc. Televisions and monitors with curved screens is another invention that many companies are already manufacturing and have gathered a lot of interest.
