Chinese Android Phones: Expanding From The East

Smartphones are becoming a must have device in almost every part of the world and now an actual threat to the main players in the international community is a surprise from the East, and they are Chinese Android phones. China, sometimes referred to as the Middle Kingdom with its 5000 year old civilization that has one of the most successful growing economies in recent years. A big part of the economy was due to their manufacturing as China has ample amount of resources in the form of humans that will work long hours, which factories take advantage of.  Big names such as Samsung and iPhone have all had their phones constructed in China and have had to keep a close eye on them to avoid the usual “Cha Bu Duo” term, which is Chinese for almost.  While China has had experience building foreign companies’ phones it has ventured into making their own home grown brands that they hope will attract the foreign market. Improving their reputation, Chinese smartphone companies are emerging and are incorporating features and specifications that make their foreigner counter-partners so successful, and one of these elements is using an Android operating system.
One brand is THL, which is from Shenzhen in the Guangdong province and they are having success with adverts that have endorsement by the Monkey King actors making it very popular as this is like getting ‘The Simpsons’ to endorse your product in the USA.  Also THL, with a vast amount of smartphones have managed to open over 600 stores in the Canton area alone and plan to open more as they expand, especially with their latest true octa-core mobile phones.
Another company that has been very strong in other sections besides Android phones is ZTE. ZTE is an extremely large corporation that specializes in telecommunications equipment as well as Chinese Android phones. ZTE is headquartered in Shenzhen but have branches throughout the international community to help deal with their telecommunication services. During 2012, ZTE was ranked 4th in the world’s top manufacturers of mobile phones and then in 2013 it ranked 5th place in the United States of America in the smartphone market.
Also during 2013, ZTE boasted they had one of the slimmest phones available, which was the ZTE Grand S and that was a slender 6.9mm in thickness.
A recent entry to join the mobile phone sector is ZOPO, who only began back in 2012 in Shenzhen.  Aiming to build up its company through research and development, production, marketing and service of mobile intelligent terminal products, ZOPO gained a lot of attention when it released a first Glasses-Free 3D dual SIM smart mobile phone. ZOPO has already expanded to other countries internationally including India and Germany so it can sell more of its ever growing range of multi-core and hi-spec gorilla glass screen mobile phones.
Haier is a specialist of manufacturing consumer electronics and already a well known international brand plus it is one of the only electronics manufacturing companies to be based outside of Shenzhen as they are in Qingdao. They mostly build home appliances such as washing machines and air conditioning units but have recently ventured in the Chinese android phone market with one of their releases, the “W718″ having an ingress protection rating IP67, resulting in it being waterproof and dust proof making it very appealing while being practical. Haier, unlike THL and Zoppo, focus on more than just Android smartphones as they have a vast array of products however they have acknowledged the importance of entering and being part of the mobile phone industry.
